How do you know if you are making the right choice?

Making the wrong choice. It’s a fear we all confront, particularly when it comes to selecting your interconnect voice management platform.

But how do you know if you are making the right choice?

You can interrogate the provider like you are a criminal prosecutor. You can do evaluations of the software. You can ask your colleagues, your boss, and analysts. But what’s the one thing that they can’t give you to help you to “know” that you have made the right choice?

Real-world user experience.

We are constantly miffed at how many carriers, who are evaluating potential interconnect voice management solutions, don’t spend enough time talking to real-world users of the platform. Interrogating them. Asking them for the good, the bad, and the ugly. Letting them inform the knowledge base from which a decision will be made.

Let’s face it, enterprise platform sales is not for the faint of heart. It’s long, complicated, and expensive. But if you have concluded you need to upgrade your interconnect voice management platform, then you have already taken the step. You are already out there on the tightrope. How do you get across without falling? By talking to real-world users.

Ask your vendor for customer references, and let those references inform your decision and path forward. Carriers are a funny bunch. They are staffed by a bunch of people who work really hard to make the most basic technology work (phone calls), and despite how complex, difficult, and challenging it is, they feel as though their work is somehow viewed less than it used to be in the marketplace. But when they find a solution that works and helps them, they want to share it with their industry colleagues.

So, don’t fret, stop worrying, and don’t live in fear. You want to know what the right choice is? Talk to the real-world users (carriers) of the platforms you are considering. They won’t lead you astray, and they may, in fact, help you get across that tight rope without any fear of falling!
